Here is the December 2020 Newsletter of Dallas Piano Academy!
In this newsletter you will find information about this year’s Music
History Project Award Opportunity, plus 5 steps to sending out a virtual
Christmas card!
This year students will again
have the opportunity to focus on a particular era of music, learning about
important composers, compositions, and instruments of that period. Last year we
focused on the Renaissance period. This year our focus will be on the Classical
Period.
The Classical period was from 1750-1810, and included great composers such as
Mozart and Haydn.
All students within the studio will learn a Classical era piece, theme or Classical style composition this year. We’ll also be talking about the classical period in a “musical history minute” in January and February.
Full details are available in an email that was sent to each family, or ask your teacher!
This season, everyone at Dallas Piano Academy has been playing through fun Christmas music! One of my favorite parts of this time of the year is hearing people play fun holiday songs. Here are some tips to sending out the perfect virtual Christmas card to your friends and family!
1) Pick out your favorite Christmas song and practice! You want to feel really confident playing them!
2) Have someone help you film. Make sure it is quiet when you are recording!
3) The beauty of doing this at home is you can re-do it as many times as you want! Try it until you get the songs right where you want them.
4) Make sure you have good lighting and no clutter in the background. If you want, say “Merry Christmas” and take a bow at the end of your video!
5) Your video can now
be sent out to grandparents, relatives, and friends! Email it or upload it
online and send the link out!
Mrs. Wooldridge played in the orchestra for the First Baptist Dallas Christmas Spectacular earlier this month. If you would like to see a program filled with Christmas music and dance that is suitable for all ages, you'll want to watch this! Here is a link to the video. Enjoy!
